Mr. Moore. How is the media going to change with this next president?
  • Michael Lindsay · 1 year ago
Why do so many cerebrally challenged people in the U.S. allow themselves to be fooled by the Republicans every four years into voting for the candidates that hurt them financially?
  • Charles Campin · 1 year ago
Hi Michael, How can we somehow force this conservative corporate media to actually talk honestly about McCain, his many gaffes, lobbyist ties, mirrored policies of Bush, all they will focus on is Obama and 3/4 of it is a constant negative it's as if there's a concerted effort to make sure a Republican is elected. Thank You !

Michael, what can we do about the declining union membership in this country?

How can we reach people who believe Fox News? How can we get them to questions facts, do their own research or just think a little? I'm registering voters -- a nonpartisan effort -- and a woman told me what would be revealed about Obama tonight! Total fantasy stuff but she believed it. Help!

    Mike,
How can John McCain make a statement that,
"We have achieved victory in Iraq"
(at the church meeting with Obama)
and how can people actually applaud that comment?
  • Ted · 1 year ago
Mike. What is your understanding of false flag terrorism and its uses through history??
  • Bruce · 1 year ago
Mike. Great movie! I found it upsetting and enlightning as well.
Here's my question. With betrayal again by Barak Obama in FISA and his swift trun to the right (of hillary and McCain) how can you endorse an other stinking democrat? Why are you not working for Ralph Nader? He's the only honest, un paid for, candidate.
  • Nita Martin · 1 year ago
John McCain is clearly dottering sometimes. How can we emphasize this without being so politically incorrect that it helps him.
  • William W. Wexler · 1 year ago
    Question for Michael Moore.

I've been a fan of yours and you've made some great films. Why have you become a shill for the Democrat party and abandoned progressives? Ralph Nader holds the core values that you're preaching in your movies, yet you support Democrat party candidates that don't. Why is that?

What are your solutions to the Election Fraud that has occurred recently in this country?

    Anyway, my question is:
Is the corporate rush to embrace universal healthcare just a ruse to eliminate employer provided healthcare so the business community doesn't have to pay for the decades of physical abuse, due to downsizing the workforce and increasing individual workloads, that their employees now suffer from?

  • munro · 1 year ago
Many neocons are now qualifying their ferocious crusade for the Iraq War or pretending they were never for it. PLEASE consider compiling a video of their tv appearances leading up to the war. As you recall, they were feverishly aggressive and must not be allowed to rewrite history and get away with it.
  • Yuruk Iyriboz · 1 year ago
Aren't the republicans supporting Obama secretly knowing that people will not elect him thus ensuring senile Make Cane's presidency ?
  • gonzomax · 1 year ago
Do you fear that the progressive movement is being underestimated and ignored in this election?. As Obama tries to please more and more I fear he will alienate the progressives who might think he is just another politician.
  • Ivor Jones · 1 year ago
Unfortunately (or not) I reside in Portugal so I cannot vote for Mr Obama. (I would have preferred Dennis anyway) So my question may not be of any real import but here goes. I have three grandchildren, one has a black mother, the other two have a Filipino mum. They are both of mixed race I believe. Why is Obama BLACK, cos he is not. Neither is he white of course. I only ask
Love your books and DVD's ..... Regards Ivor

Great article in Rolling Stone--especially the advice regarding women and Michelle Obama. My question is when are you going to do a film on the shameful way we treat old people in this country?

    QUESTION:
This election, like many others before, seems to be framing itself around the essentially abstract issue of patriotism. Given that anyone wanting to run the country should automatically be assumed to be a patriot (well... durr), how could a candidate most effectively and diplomatically say let's shut up about patriotism and talk about what really matters instead?
  • Phil · 1 year ago
    Michael,

I enjoy all your films, here is my question. Do you think there will be criminal prosecution of George Bush, and Dick Cheney ( either through Congress or the World Court) once these scumbags have left office?
  • Dmac · 1 year ago
Why did you degrade our Troops in fahrenheit 9/11? They're doing a job you couldn't do, so you have to make them look bad.

Do you see any way for the Democratic Party to overcome the dominance of the conservative media (Fox Fake News, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Rielly, etc.) influence in the coming Presidential Election and into the future? Do you see the "Fairness Doctrine" as a solution down the road?
  • R Lynch · 1 year ago
Why hasn't there been an re-examination of the evidence, including building seven. of the wtc collapse, and following the money trail on who has made the most cash on this "war on terror"?
  • Jerell · 1 year ago
    Hi Mike,

Since Obama's big donor (vs. individual small amount donor online) money trail leads back to the usual Wall Street, gas and oil and telecommunications suspects, how can we expect him to represent middle and lower-class Americans, build a clean energy economy and clean house once elected?
  • paul Vorwerk · 1 year ago
How would you suggest avoiding preaching to the choir in the coming weeks? The focus, it seems to me, should be on coming up with strategies to address and affect the "dumb vote" -- e.g. the folks with bumper stickers like I saw the other day which warned "Protect America; Defeat Obama!"
  • Jonathan Saliger · 1 year ago
I've heard interesting comments from people claiming that you are unfair. "A bully", they often call you. Some also say that you're the "liberal form of Bill O'Reilly". What would you say in response to such comments?
  • Steve Wilson · 1 year ago
Mike, what do you make of the American media ignoring the story broken by Greg Palast of the BBC that Karl Rove is already setting about plans to steal the 2008 election in much the same way as they stole the 2000 and 2004 elections by not allowing people to vote?
  • dt kidwell · 1 year ago
I live in the still-impoverished Southeast Kentucky mountains. Over the past 15 years I have witnessed the big coal-operators (Arch Minerals) strategically dissolve ALL union-coal-mining jobs. Additionally, this seems to have been the nationwide trend.

Will the working class ever, again, be afforded the security and benefits of true collective bargaining; or can we trully consider the 60s' & 70s' the "'good-ole-days' to never return"?
  • Will Petty · 1 year ago
    Mike,
As we near the 60-day mark leading up to the election, why is John McCain's physical well-being still a sacred issue? Why hasn't an American reporter asked McCain point-blank, "You can't raise your arms above your head. How will that hinder your ability to effectively lead the United States?"
  • michelle fecteau · 1 year ago
How do you respond to "progressives" who say since there is little difference between McCann and Obama they will not vote of vote for another party in order to support a "real" grass roots movement for change in the future?

What will you do when McCain puts you in a concentration camp?

According to pubic perception, hippie environmentalists are preventing off-shore drilling, thereby obstructing lower gas prices for regular blue-collar Americans. The truth is that off-shore drilling benefits no one but the oil companies, who are already making record profits and getting big tax breaks. How on earth did we find a way to lose this debate?
  • Paul Breyer · 1 year ago
Mike, Don't you really think this country is so far from what it started out to be that we need to remove most of them from power and start over? I personally think that McSame will make "W" look like a Rhodes scholar and he will help bring about the collapse sooner. Obama will only put a patch here and there prolonging the inevitable....Paul Breyer

How can we stop or disable "K" Street and the lobbyist?
Those in power have no incentive to reduce the influence of, and make way to much money off, the rarified “Special Interest” groups that actually control our country.
  • Matt Funiciello · 1 year ago
Michael, While those of us in the "Common Sense" party can certainly appreciate your films, I know that many of us who support peace, democracy, single-payer healthcare, a balanced budget and an end to corporate welfare want to know why you stopped supporting one of the only successful champions of these issues the country has ever seen; Ralph Nader? Do you really think there is a substantive difference in supporting the COVERT fascists instead of the OVERT fascists?
  • Bill G. · 1 year ago
Do you feel, as I do, that the mainstream press feels an obligation to present both sides to every issue, no matter what the facts support?

Can we not sue the private owners of the Federal Reserve Bank for, say, $50 Trillion for high crimes and misdemeanors related to purposely initiating the dot-com and real estate bubbles costing Americans at least that much? The goal would be to put them out of business. Rockefeller and Rothschild are worth trillions!

    Please advise.

Mr. Moore, Why don't you do a documentary on the TRUE COST OF THE WAR IN IRAQ? Enumerate what the $2-3 Trillion we will ultimately spend for this war and its aftermath would have purchased in the way of healthcare, Social Security, reducing our national debt and poverty, infrastructure, developing alternative energy, education, the environment, etc ad infinitum? Compare what the U.S. spends for defense versus other countries. Liken our preoccupation with war to other world empires who "got it wrong" and their resultant demises.
  • Kris · 1 year ago
In Bowling for Columbine you showed us that video games and music were quickly blamed for the tragedy, and distracted us from the underlying issues on our country. It seems that often the media chooses to focus on issues of less importance, which distracts us from those affect us as Americans the most. What do you feel are the biggest distractions in the media today and how do you recommend we take action to get them to focus on what really matters.

Are we officially in a "POLICE STATE" and if so, is OBAMA interested in changing this or will he be willingly going along with the neocon plan? Nancy Pelosi's defiant stance to NOT put impeachment on the table is because she realizes that Congress' inability to get the votes to make it happen will prove to the world just how weak, uncommitted and spineless our Democratic congress is when the measure fails, and it most certainly would. With people distracted with just trying to put food on their table, how can we instill the fear in our elected officials the way they have been manipulating us with fear for decades, to be submissive and responsive to their constituency?

I got a lot out of 9-11 Farenheit . More information is now focused on the role of FEMA in Continuity of Government and the dangerous stripping of our civil liberties and the Constitution. What is your angle on recent Bush legislations like Directive 51 which gives near dictatorial powers to the Executive branch and the annullment of the US constitution in the case of a "national emergency"- real or imagined?
  • Dru · 1 year ago
Michael, should you have the opportunity, would you attempt to explain to House Speaker Pelosi why options to impeach Bush should be considered in accordance to the Constitution.

I have watched everyone of your films. You are incredible. In Farenheit 9/11 you exposed the Carlisle Group. Since the Bush Administration took office the Gov't has instituted naked shorting in the stock market. It is not legal to do naked shorts but large funds can use it to manipulate a company driving a stock price down then bring it back up by buying the stock and cheating investors both ways. Both parties let it go on and they are all cheating the people again.

How do you see the people of the US create change in the entrenched industries; such as military industrial complex, insurance burdened medical industry, oil and gas dependence, incarceration for profit legal system and a political system that puts the needs of the few ahead of the needs of the many? Our government seems to operate on its own these days, without regard or input from its citizens. Is it possible at this time in history to wrestle our freedom out of the hands of the corporations and the ultra-wealthy, or is it too late?

In studying the history of who's been paying taxes, I discovered that quietly oover the last 50 years corporations in cooperation with the government have slowly shifted the tax burden onto working people so that the revenues collected by the gov't has had a ratio of as much as 7.75 to 1(1983) it has been as low as 1:1(1938). How come no one has ever examined/discussed this? This can be verified at the following site:

Please respond to why John McCain continues taking credit for helping victims of Hurricane Katrina. The citizens of New Orleans suffered like people in a 3rd world counrty. I don't know if you have visited the city lately, but the city is no where close to being halfway restored. Wouldn't it be helpful for the next president to put into action a real/non-political "State of the Union" examination of the major issues and to see that the resulting information was made available to everyone?

Because of the power of insurance lobby monies, efforts to secure "single-payer" have run not only into a road block in both federal and state legislatures but are headed off by so-called "universal coverage" plans that are, in reality, devices for simply subsidizing the parasitic middle men (for-profit carriers & HMOs) that account for 31% of spiraling healthcare costs. Would you be willing, Mr. Moore, to lead an effort in California to place "single-payer" on the ballot as a state wide initiate?

Your films are great but often end up being examples of "preaching to the choir"; they are popular with the progressive crowd but are likely ignored by just the people who need educating about right-wing policies. Will you make a film aimed at persuading intellectually honest conservatives of the damage done by those policies as well as how they've been misled by right-wing media (Fox News, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, especially)?

It seems like it would be a huge savings to corporations if we had national health care. So I am curious why the powerful corporate interests are not advocating for it? My guess is that they have so much more leverage over their employees by tying any hope for decent health care to their jobs. But what municipalities? I'm thinking that they would not be so evil about power tripping their employees., Wouldn't it be a huge savings for town, city and state budgets and ultimately taxpayers if we had single payer health care?

Not just for the urban poor, but the rural poor, and the middle class, who are part of the 45,000,000 underinsured Americans who face the worst healthcare system in the entire Western world when they visit a doctor--or try to! Dr Herb Smitherman was wonderful. The witnesses in the audience testified and the lessons of Sicko are not Hollywood hype, but REALITY! One of the comments from yesterday's forum: the number one cause of personal bankruptcy now in the US is medical bills for medical disasters like cancer. Half the tragedy of a cancer diagnosis is chemo and mortablity; the other half is financial ruin. What kind of world is this?

Michael, in "Sicko" and in interviews you've made the GREAT point that Americans are already paying huge "taxes" for medical care in the form of the humungous premiums we pay for insurance (not to speak of the enormous public cost of emergency care for the uninsured). However, NONE of the Democratic candidates have picked up on this, which would help them (& us) counter the Republican arguments against public health care. You have access to most of these people. Can you do anything to get them to pick up on this crucial talking point/issue/message?

Since the faith based organizations are doing such a stellar job of delivering services to the needy, the poor and the down trodden of our fair and priviliged country, perhaps we should all put our support behind these programs and the funding of these programs. Since "green" is now the universal buzz word, do you believe it would still be political suicide for a candidate to come out strongly in favor of decriminalizing hemp for industrial purposes? Hemp, 100% American-grown and a 100% renewable source of earth-friendly fuel, durable fiber and high-protein food, ought to get a fair shake shouldn't it? I've watched all your movies, beginning with "Roger and me". I also agree that everybody in this country should have affordable health care. If you and I went to a private insurer and asked for a joint policy, however, I don't believe I'd be very happy because you are somewhat above an ideal medical weight and I am not. Therefore, my premium would be higher than if I got a policy on my own. Can you make a movie to inspire Americans to eat less and exercise more? Mr. Moore, how do you think the people of this country (and all the countries of the world) should address the military industrial complex and the men/women behind the scene pull the strings on our politicians around the world while leading us into perpetual conflict for profiting of a series of international cartels? Where do we start? When do the people realize the false left-right paradigm of modern American politics and realize that no matter who you "vote" for with your electronic voting machines, it's all about who will stop the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

    Thank you.

Hi, Michael...After the elections of 2000 and 2004, there was a movement to overhaul the antiquated, and possibly corrupt, system of voting. It's been 4 years, now, and it doesn't seem like there has been anything done to ensure that all our votes will be counted fairly. Are you aware of any improvements, e.g., in Florida, and Ohio, to overhaul our voting system?

    Mike,

    Thanks for your good work.

Talk for a bit about something that I'm sure concerns you, and that's the need to try to change the minds that need to be changed, and NOT to just preach to the choir. It's an old problem, and, yes, you're a prophet who's found *some* honor in his own country, but I'm sure you never stop pondering this question. What *is* the magic elixir that sends documentary work beyond the fans and already-converted and starts it chipping away at the "intransigent?"

    Any flashes on this, lately?

Is the media choosing our candidates for America instead of being America's watchdog?
If you watch the Olympics you notice the media picks one contestant and discusses the ones they like and pretty much ignore the other contestants. I feel in this election, they are doing the same. The media picked Obama pretty early in the campaign and basically ignored all the others. Even asking a candidate who was ahead in the popular vote to step down. It's knee jerk journalism, eroding facts with feelings.

Mike I think one of the great mysteries of the November 2000 debacle, I mean election was that in spite of blatant voter fraud, Republican "Operatives" in Seminole County changing voter ballots and the almost certain involvement of Jeb Bush and Katherine Harris in vote tampering, Bill Clinton did NOTHING to fulfill his legal responsible to insure free and fair elections. Why weren't 500 FBI agents sent down immediately to investigate and seize and secure information and evidence? Nobody has ever confronted Bill or Hillary with this question as far as I know.

Where was the lie in Farhenheit 9/11? It seemed to be a series of questions rather than conclusions--most of which the administration still refuses to answer (how come the Bin Laden clan got to fly back to Saudi Arabia when no-one else could fly and who profited by short-selling airline stocks being only two). The big lie was the "Saddam was behind 9/11 and he had WMD's. That's why thousands more are dead and the economy is toast--except for the beneficiaries of the privatized war.

    Dear Michael:
The Republicans aided and abetted the massive immigration of Mexican and Asian workers in the 70's, 80's and 90's as they meeded them to man their factories at below legal wagess. Now that they have moved their factories to China, they no longer have any need for these folks and just want to get rid of them. Why haven't the Democrats made an issue of this? Am I the only person who saw the sweatshops here in the good ole USA?

McCain is obviously uploading Hilary Clinton "3 a.m." styled attack ads against Obama's perceived lack of experience. Do you think this is best remedied with a Joe Biden or Hilary Clinton VP pick, or do either of those two choices require augmentation via a cranking up of anger and louder tonality by Obama? Does he need to be more pro-active in his ataks on McShame? Thanks for all you do. I've shown your films to my HS cinema class and you are their hero! (Mine too.)

I blew the whistle on a major grading scandal at the high school where I was teaching English. Now I'm out of a job and the crooks are still in. Know any good whistle blower case lawyers willing to work pro bono? I can't do this alone.
If you taught sky diving classes and tossed your students out of the plane without a parachute, that would be considered criminal. Well so is sending students out into society without an education. In fact it may be worse. A lot more people will be affected in much more serious ways!

Do you think supporting Ralph Nader in 2000 was a good idea?
Do you think that the wry and witty humor of Farenheit 9/11 led many people to believe it was the camera-trick comedy movie that the Bush bandwagon claimed it was, rather than the serious truthful critique it actually was.
I mean didn't the comedy cause people to think, for example, that the "now watch this drive" clip was a film editing joke staged and calculated to get laughs?

I think the banks with their credit card companies are doing a lot to bankrupt this country. Their fees, interest rates, and unscrupulous practices are out of control. Why isn't more brought out about their role in the tanking of the economy. The republicans have ushered in a culture of unbridled greed. What can be done?

Mr. Moore. I thought you were "out there" telling people the truth. So why have you not told us that the fourteenth amendment sold out the united (no caps on united is intended, not a typo) States of America and all its inhabitants, and that anyone who is a United States citizen with their name all in capital letters, is merely a fictional person for the Corporation of the United States of America for the purpose of revenue? Thank you.

Blame the victim. McCain wants to blame homeowners for the housing crisis and pretends that the unscruplous practices of the lenders had nothing to do with it. Obama wants to blame teachers for the poor performance of students as if broken homes, drugs, poverty, prenancy, and truancy can be factored into merit pay. I think both candidates need to be taken to task on both of these issues.

Everyone has an opinion why: he's not keeping his message simple enough (a la John Kerry); he's not explaining his positions in enough detail; he's too soft, he's too nasty, etc. Do you think it's really a matter of his delivery or is the sad truth that Democrats can't counter Swift Boatian attacks without climbing into the gutter themselves?

    Mr. Moore,

I am one of many women who are abused in the legal system by husbands whom, for no other reason than to avoid paying child support and alimony, legally abuse both the woman and the children in the court system. My situation has been no less than outrageous. Have you heard or are you aware of the atrocities that exist in the legal system regarding this issue?? There has been domestic violence, arrests, etc. It keeps going until the attorney's have used up all the money, then they settle.

I have not heard much on this issue from either camp lately but I would feel better if I knew that how I vote matters at all this time around.

Thanks for all you do. I have seem and read much of your output over the years and you always deliver the goods. Time well spent.

    Mike,
Here's a subject I would like for you to address: The U.S. Constitution is (supposedly) the Supreme Law of the Land. Since "unreasonable search and seizure" is prohibited by the U.S. Constitution, why does the U.S. Congress suppose it can legalize the unreasonable searches of citizens' private correspondence (telephones & e-mails) retroactively and also bestow immunity upon the corporations that aided in the violation of the U.S. Constitution? Can Congress legitimize any illegal act with a stroke of the pen?

Before the vote on the invasion of Iraq you asked us to sign a petition to pledge that we would NEVER vote for ANYONE who voted for that monstrous piece of legislation. I signed the petition and kept my pledge. You didn't.

So here is the question: Why did you break YOUR pledge and support Kerry-Edwards?

What I never hear come up in candidate discussions about the war in Iraq is the fiscal cost of the war. As you know, last year we spent $138 billion of BORROWED money to fund the war (obviously not to mention the lives ended, disrupted, and permanently altered). When can Obama legitimately say, enough is enough, and why hasn't he used it already as a reason to end this tragic misadventure?

There is no where to turn parents and children who are caught in this nightmare judges have immunity and if you complain they can take custody from you unless you have thousands of dollars for an appeal. Question for MM: In the German form of government, there are several parties (not just two, which often are identical twins), some of whom join forces when they see the dangers of a larger party (for example, the Nationalismus of the Republican Party). Do you think it advisable for the U.S. to develop a similar multi-party system and how might this be achieved?

Don't you think that if Congress modified the ERISA laws to where the HMO's and Insurance programs could once again be held liable for their "inaction or actions" that the pendulum would finally begin to swing in favor of patients and the doctors who are trained to provide the care they are recommending?

    Thanks Dr. Peter DeFranco

I would like to know why nobody is going after big business who is outsourcing americans and taking away all our jobs. These is nothing left that is made in America. It is all for greed and I think that until these companies begin to hire Americans again, we will not get out of this horrible recession. I am 58 years old and have to go back to work because my money is gone. They don't hire people my age.
What do you think about this? We need help!

Or the effect is has had on all of the world's economy. WILL YOU SPEAK UP? Roger and Me was brilliant but unheeded. In 1964, GM stock was 110$

This was professional and intentional suicide.

Great idea about Caroline. Have passed this on to some pals on his campaign team- maybe they will bring it up over coffee. A strong woman would be a great VP choice. I was hoping for Hillary but I love Caroline. Plus we definitely need socialized medicine. I hope Obama will consider it. Thank you for doing this. I wish he would choose you as VP.

Michael, isn't John McCain's lack of understanding and lack of support for funding for new technology a major issue that is being ignored in the current presidential campaign? The internet is becoming a fundamental communication tool for individuals, corporations and small businesses, yet we have no laws protecting our rights to it's use in the way we have for other utilities, which the internet is fast becoming. Shouldn't internet access and other technology be a larger concern for us in this upcoming election?
  • Rue Riddle · 1 year ago
Recently John McCain commented on an audience members suggestion of bringing back the draft. He said he "didn't disagree with that idea". I am wondering how the Republican machine is going to bury that one. Or have they already done it? He has tried to say that he is also a man of the people. Odd in the climate of mortgage foreclosures this man, when asked by a reported how many houses he owns answered with "You know what, I will have to get back to you on that".

Al Gore and John Kerry were defeated by the Bush/Rove slime machine. They ceded victory by supposedly taking the higher ground. Obama is now ensnared in the same lies, attacks and smears. Will he also take the high ground and be defeated, or will he grow a pair, get down and dirty and fight back? Why are Democrats such easy targets in these presidential campaigns? Are they really only playing the roll of "good cop" in a one-party system?

Hi, Michael! Do you think there's a way to make USA Americans understand that alienating the rest of the world is not in their best interest? That injustice breeds hate and, thus, violence? Is it so difficult to understand that when you strip hope from people, they won't have anything to lose and thus any desperate measure will be welcome (focusing on Palestine, here, for instance)? Thanks from a long time fan.

    Hi Michael.

Based on the past two elections and the lies people still believe about Obama. it's quite evident that the masses fail to educate themselves on the candidates' platform or their backgrounds before casting their vote. And it's really sad when the less fortunate blindly vote against who or what would truly represent their own needs. We've seen the results of that ignorance, so what do you think about voters having to past a test so we at least know voters are making a somewhat educated choice? LOL Yeah, an IQ test to vote......or is there a fear it would be rigged, too?
    Keep up the good work.

  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    Hello, (part 1 of 8)

I could go into extensive details and back-up what I am stating with legal proof but in a nut shell (yes, this is the short version but still factual): I am currently living in Hernando County, FL. (which corruption rules). A few women in this county are sued every 2-3 months for frivolous cases by the same 'doctor' (Karl and Natalie Leibensperger - Karl does not work (former DO) he only sues women, and Natalie is the unlicensed 'OB/GYN', she does have a DO) and overseen by the same 'county judge' (Kurt Hitzemann).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 2 of 8)

This doctor (who is no longer licensed to practice medicine) is married to another so-called doctor who does practice OB/GYN without a license to do so. These two are very good friends with one of the "good old boys' club" judges here. These women set up appointments to be seen by this 'doctor', they are made to wait until they leave or have to reschedule and then are billed for this (not being seen and made to wait).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 3 of 8)

When you contact the 'doctor' in regards to the bill, he is vile, abusive and crude, refuses to listen, and then he sues you (it is very apparent that his only intentions are to sue you). My original bill was for $70.00, I am being sued for $400.00. When these women are sued (the info is public records), they are all labeled/ruled guilty by the same judge, and end up owing/paying TEN TIMES the amount of the amount of the law suit (TEN TIMES, never fails).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 4 of 8)

ALL of these women are self-employed (have their own businesses) AND own property. According to the Tampa Tribune and other media, these judges were selected to expedite foreclosures in Hernando County a few years ago. This 'doctor' purchases three to four homes/properties with a value ranging from $175K to 900K EVERY WEEK and then is able to pay off each mortgage in full and receives the deed/title to these properties and this all occurs THE FOLLOWING WEEK of purchase! (Again, this is all public info).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 5 of 8)

Now like the rest of these women, as a small (actually tiny) business owner, I do not have the funds to pay a lawyer to fight these maggots (that is why they do it). I own two properties, have two mortgages (one large and one that is approximately 1/4th the value of the property), owe HUGE taxes on both properties and home owner's insurance, and am behind on these bills due to lack of income and the inability to sell the properties even for a fraction of their worth (and they know that since this too is public information).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 6 of 8)
I had a 'pretrial mediation' hearing and asked for this judge to be recuse from this case, he denied it. My 'mediation' consisted of the 'judge', myself and the 'doctor', there were no witnesses allowed and no mediator! The 'judge' wanted to force me to say I owe this money; I explained that I had been a patient for over 3.5 years and never had billing/$ issues and always paid what I owed (which was over 21K for prenatal care, delivering my youngest child, postpartum, regular check-ups throughout the years etc.)
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
but that I was never seen, made to wait a couple of HOURS, being promised I was next to be seen, then was told I had to leave because the office was closed and handed a bill for $70.00.
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 7a of 8)

When the judge realized I would not be intimidated or tricked into saying that in his own words, "So you refuse to pay the money you owe My Gynecologist (Leibensperger ) for services rendered?!", I corrected him by stating there were no services rendered therefore there is not bill to pay and if there were services rendered, where are the results of my labs form the lab, not Leibensperger (although Leibensperger told me he could make up any record he wished).
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 7b of 8)
Judge Hitzemann ignored my statement along with my TWENTY-ONE pages of documentations backing up what I was stating and continued to try to intimidate and trick me, but it did not work. I mentioned the media to him (the 'judge') and handed him his history with this 'doctor' and their frivolous, illegal law suits and he then claimed, "We are going to trial and I AM THE JUDGE. I will then determine the outcome of this law suit." This was a threat, not a legal statement.
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 8a of 8)
I have tried contacting the other women involved but have had no success. They are all 'gone', moved from this county with unlisted phone numbers and most I can not find, they disappeared. I have a family of five. I work hard for every cent and then give every cent back to the county to pay my every-growing bills. I need a lawyer but can not afford one and even if I could, not one will go up against these "gold old boys"...these words have been repeated over and over to me like a mantra.
  • Fed Up in Hernando · 1 year ago
    (part 8b of 8)

As an encore to "Sicko" would you consider a documentary about the pharmaceutical companies and their regulation or lack thereof by the FDA? Big Pharma is causing as much suffering in this country as the big health insurance companies. The public is being suckered by the constant TV advertising by Big Pharma and someone needs to set them straight. We physicians are being manipulated and deceived by their marketing also. Let me know if you need some help. There are lots of doctors who would love to tell you stories that would make a film another hit.

    America needs:

    - Social respobsibility (but still allowing freedom of innovation and industry, in a responsible way)
    - A GOOD president who will take care of the American people but realize that there is a world out there who are just as imporatant.
    - to remember that they are made up of the rest of the worlds people and some who didn't really want to come here or be dominated in their own land.
    - the rest of the world has suffered also...
    - to remeber that it is one kick-ass place to live!!

Thanks for being my new home America,
Love, a guy from Belfast, Ireland!!

Are you familiar with progressive, political DVD clubs like Ironweed Films and are you interested in having a continuity club like this as a distribution outlet for documentaries? This is a great way to reach interested viewers in smaller towns who might not receive access to documentary blockbusters in their local theaters.

Mike, I'm curious as to why you support a candidate in Obama that opposes single payer health care, opposes an immediate end to the war in Iraq, and wants to allow private companies to spy on Americans without warrants? There are two candidates that will be appearing on enough ballots to win the race if they receive enough votes that support these major issues. Why do you not support McKinney or Nader, when their platforms more closely match your own, especially in areas where Obama's is opposed to your stance on these issues?

In your last Newsletter you asked Caroline Kennedy to nominate herself for VP. Is there any reaction from her?

And a simple question. Do you think Obhama would do a better Job than Bush? I don't really now what i think about that, because the german Press just pushed Obhama like a kind of Messiah and there were never a word about any disadvantages.

2: Can you please do something about AIDS?! I think that its origins are very suspicious as the time of the discovery of AIDS was the time when Henry Kissinger said that Human Depopulation was of utmost importance on the agenda of foreign policy, and bluntly blamed third world countries for the over populating. Research yourself, although i don't think you will be surprised.

This question is for Michael Moore and all of the Guests,
Recently, John McCain has admitted not knowing how to use a computer and a few days ago stated that he didn't know how many houses he owned. These two instances seem a lot like Bush 1 and his Supermarket line ignorance of Scanners- do you agree? How do Progressives exploit this and especially what other areas should Progressives be looking at to help shape the image of John McCain in the voters eyes?

Coming from a country where we have been under a (secretly military backed) caretaker government in power for the last year and no clear beginning of democracy in sight, my question to you is this:
Do Americans (a term used to imply those from USA, and not all North and South Americans) appreciate democracy enough? Voter turnouts and political apathy might suggest the opposite...

I have challened the news media to take on the issue of the flag lapel pin. I suggested the send someone to 10 different stores to purchase the flag pins, and then report on how many were made in the USA and how many were made in China. Apparently, nobody wants to know. Legitimate, open, honest elections go to the heart of democracy; democracy is the gateway to everything else. Investigative reporter Greg Palast reports that the same schemes used to rig the Florida election in 2000 are now spreading to several swing states, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania and, yet again, Florida:
My question: Do you believe a congressional investigation into ongoing election fraud is warranted?

How can we get the message to voters that McCain only has the wealthy on his agenda to help. I'm amazed at the number of lower middle class people who claim they will vote for him because they think a Democrat will tax THEM. More has to be put in the media where the taxation will be applied. Obama says over 5000$ a week the extra over that will be taxed higher. Sounds reasonable to me since $5000 a week is plenty. Have you read the book "The Second Bill of Rights" you'll like it.

The fact that the polls are so close right now is absolutely frightening. Why don't you round up your celeb pals and simply inundate the airwaves with spots that shame the lemmings e.g. "This time, THINK before voting against your own economic interests!!"? If Schwarzenegger can get elected, enough people will listen to Streep, Springsteen, Clooney, Stiller, et al, and we'll finally throw the bums out.

What can we do now as the campaign progresses to push Obama towards working harder for Universal Health Care that really solves our health care crisis?

To me that means a omprehensive, "Medicare for All" national health program on the order ot Rep. John Conyers Bill, HR 676. Obama's statements so far show his willingness to continue to allow the private, for-profit insurance industry a large role. I think that means we won't get a truly workable solution.

Since we don't seem to be making much headway in the fight to have a fair healthcare system, maybe we should take a different approach. Maybe we should start to demand that each and every elected official give up their free, taxpayer funded health care. I don't think the politicians fully understand a problem that they don't have.

Judges, attorneys, councelors, doctors, CPS all making money at the beaten down parents expense. Every American pays huge dollars in taxes to keep this money machine going. Is it possible that the Obama campaign believes that the election will be won by identifying large blocks of non voters (in key states) who agree with him and persuading them to register and vote, rather than persuading voters to vote for him by attacking his opponent, making empty promises and lying when it seems convenient?

Mr. Moore is a very outspoken liberal, and has no doubt affected the youth of this nation. There is a downside however, Mr. Moore tends to fire up the conservatives, and he is like kindling wood to their fire. Has he come to terms with this, and if so, is this the reason he is not being as vocal in this election, as the more vocal he gets, the more vile the right gets?

Do you ever lose faith in the intelligence of our society? It always amazes me that people can have such tunnel vision when it comes to certain issues. Even after overwhelming evidence showed the incompetence of the Bush administration and the pointlessness of the war, the majority of the country STILL voted for Bush in 2004. How do you stay positive about it all?

You won't have honest hill critters until you put a very serious halt on: 1) How much money your elected officials are allowed to use on campaigning ... seriously is there, in this day and age of such widespread access to information ANY justification for spending millions upon millions of dollars on a campaign? and 2)Lobbying. It simply should not be permitted, or the rules under which it is done, need to be revised and tightened ... If there are no rules, some need to be put in place.

Obama's poll numbers have been slipping ever since he began his "move toward the center." Huffington, Lakoff, and others have explained why "moving toward the center" does not work. Would you agree with that analysis? And, if you do, how can we persuade Obama to stop following such a strategy?

Lets suggest that Senator Obama challenge McCain to a debate on the US Constitution. Knowledge of our nation's fundamental laws should be considered a requirement for office - more important than a politician's "experience." This would clearly address the claim from the McCain camp that Obama is a mere celebrity, not ready for office. At the very least the media should be prevailed upon to include such questions in the already scheduled debates.

I really think that John McCain is a sacrificial lamb of the Republican party. He is so inept and the Republicans know that no one in their right mind would vote for such a poor politician and that they have no chance to win this year. • Donald A. Kronos, Ph.D. · 1 year ago
This is wonderful! Thank you, Michael, for giving us the opportunity to ask you a question here. Okay, here's mine... Would you help me to rid the American political system of the flaw that kept George W. Bush from losing by a land-slide like he rightfully should have and keeps two political parties unfairly disadvantaged at any given time while severely oppressing the rest and squashing the evolution of political diversity?
  • Donald A. Kronos, Ph.D. · 1 year ago
It's really simple. Just imagine if instead having to get a plurality of gross positive votes to win an election, a candidate would have to win a plurality of net votes after the votes AGAINST them are subtracted from the votes FOR them. Think about the people who chose not to vote in 2004 because the didn't want to hurt the chances of "third parties" and didn't really support John Kerry.
  • Donald A. Kronos, Ph.D. · 1 year ago
Imagine how many of those people would gladly have showed up to vote AGAINST George W. Bush, simultaneously reducing his chances and leveling the playing field for all political parties! Even a small percentage would have made a huge difference... and we would not be in this mess now.
  • Donald A. Kronos, Ph.D. · 1 year ago
THIS is what I was trying to present to Barack Obama when I suggested to his staff that he could run a campaign like he's running it now, and win... but they insisted we can already vote against someone, by voting "FOR" the other guy. Okay, so in a multi-party system before ANY votes have been cast... Who's the other guy?

Given that the rate of incarceration in the United States is the highest in the world, what ideas to you have for dealing with the prison-industrial complex? Money is being siphoned off that should be supporting programs to keep people, especially youngsters, out of the clutches of the justice system. It is a political issue that seems to be so entrenched that the situation worsens yearly. Politicians are so afraid of being "Willie Hortoned" that they avoid the question whenever they can. Considering the USA has one of the most draconian cannabis laws in the world, ironic in fact, for a nation that had a highly developed hemp industry in the times of George Washington, what is your opinion on the matter? There are states making progress towards legalising it, particularly for medicinal use. And yet, you largely have a 'conservative redneck'federal government that is blocking any attempts of change. If members of Congress had the same "benefits" afforded middle class Americans, i.e. a pension that is 1/10 of salary at retirement (age 65), medicare, and Social Security, they would do a better job of making laws that take care of us with our own money.

I think that the single most important issue is the completely ineffectual United Nations. It's a shame because it is the only legitimate institution the world over.

Question: It is reported that the USA staffs and maintains in excess of 735 military bases around the world. For what purpose? The American people need to have more information about this and to decide whether they really want their tax dollars spent in this way. In addition, rather than a continuous multiplication of military bases, why not get serious about creating a cabinet-level DEPARTMENT OF PEACE? Cheaper, more effective, would use fewer natural resources, etc.

Hi Michael, John McCain has chosen a woman, Palin, as his running mate. Newspapers and newscasters across the nation had narrowed it down to Romney, Ridge or Pawlenty. But I knew it would be one of the women who had made the short list. It made perfect sense to me. Pawlenty was just a ruse. Why couldn't the Democrats see this coming? Why don't you run for the senate like Al Frankek, and make a big stink when stuff is done wrong? You are one of the last patriots in our country.

    Dear Mike,
Whats your opinion on McCain making the Alaskan Governer, a women, the VP. MSMBC calls it reaching out to female voters. Whats the chance he picked his VP solely to benefit himself with Alaskan Oil? We don't know much about her at all. Enlighten us.

I'd like to see Naomi Wolf interviewed. I'm reading her books, "The Beauty Myth" (which explains how and why women are taught to dislike their physicality) and "The End of America" (which lays out the methods used by authoritarians to undermine democracy). Both are are original, thoughtful, and thoroughly researched. I think she would provide an electric interview.

Due to the treatment given by the media to other democratic candidates, Isn't Obama a somewhat "Illegal" candidate? I remember how Dennis Kucinich was extirpated from his participation on the democratic debates. Also I remember only seen Obama, Hillary and Edward's siluettes on CNN, etc...

The draft proposal sounds a bit like Chavez. First what is the definition of "poor"?

The first "Health Care" problem that needs to be addressed is the sociopathic P@R@$ITI$M of the Corporate Elite. Until we can find effective therapies for their addictions to control, hoarding & power, the same old Bu$]-[!+ is going to continue to blow in the wind as the Global Disruption Fan cranks up momentum, approaching critical mass whereby there will be nothing humans can do to reverse the direction of the 'trend'. [Metaphoric as well as literal meanings above.]

If you do not elect Obama (which I see as likely), please send him to us in Europe. We will welcome him with open arms. Such enlightenment is not new to us, it is part of our culture!

what do you think of instant runoff voting? Do you like our two-party system? If we had an election system like Germany's what percent of the vote do you think the Green Party would get here?

If Obama wins, do you really think this will start to free us from the undue influence of corporations on American foreign policy and politics.

Demand fair elections first! Open the debates to thrid-party candidates first and foremost, Cynthia McKinney and Ralph Nader both deserve a place in any fair election! These two-parties are incapable of making the changes we need.

Hi, I've enjoyed your books so far and really sided with Obama all this time. The rest of them aren't real enough to speak and stand for the people equally. So my question is how is the Vice president McCain has chosen going to help him out. When they say Obama don't have enough expericance for President and how is it that McCain is any better he spend most of his time as a pow so how is that a hero for us.His Vice choosen one is younger and not expericanced enough as well. I think McCain is just Shammng us with his fights back to us.Gloria

Hey Michael -what do you suppose is the reason McSame has voted down every bill in Congress that would assist our veterans? Could he have been brain washed during his captivity and this is an insidious plot to undermine our armed forces? (That idea, phrased as a question on the internet, a la Rove ) might be useful!

Strategy to combat the never ending lies. If you would start a petition or calling list to call the news people that are propagating the lies. You figure out who we should pursue we the people then contact them in force. It is time the NEWS people start taking responsibility for their actions and suffering the focus of our attention.

    Lets make them the celebrities.

Strategy : call all of our representatives and anyone else and tell them you will not vote for McCain if Palin is on the ticket. She is a liar as per the new information that has surfaced. And if McCain bombed your house and your street and he crashed closed to you, what would you do?

I would just like to comment on the fact that Mr mooore is not focusing on the new world order subject given that the first Bush Sr. gave a speech on it, and the American people has no understanding as to what it means or its implications. Is it still a possibility given the fact that Obama is the president. That concerns me because the North American Union is a precept of the new World Order.
