By ALL means, relax!!! Have fun.

Have a "willing suspension of righteous wrath" moment--'cuz that's all you've got with Stephen. (I'll admit I probably couldn't follow my own advice on this topic, though). Maybe "out-Stephen Stephen, if you can.

(Go back and watch his address to the WH Correspondents' dinner, too--about THE ballsiest thing I've ever seen a 'fake' or real journalis' do in my 66-odd years on earth.)

Couple of possibilities I can think of along the lines of Stephen's really being too timid to take on the "power elite" and of being luke-warm in his praise of Bush and Cheney, etc.

"Stephen, how come you haven't had the moxie to call for the impeachment of Congress --the Democrats -- for the way they've been messing around with Cheney and Bush's programs?"

--I'm surprised you haven't praised your party for sneaking Brave New World into the tent with our first-ever "pneumatic vice president" and praised Rush Limbaugh for being an early adopter of Soma, the Brave New Worldian "opiate of the masses."

--On Michael Moore--My god, Stephen, we're not even in the same league. Michael thinks Congress should do his laundry. I think Congress should pull my chariot.

--why are you having guys like me in for interviews, when the real heros of our party are guys like Dick "Watermellon" Scaife? And Laura Ingraham -- and who's that really skinny woman?--really much too skinny to be a true Republican in the zaftig Palin mode--I think she's faking it--you should have her on and expose her lack of true belief.

--And how come you're not celebrating all of the really smart people in the country--the ones who've been clever enough to divert all of the money in the treasury -- and then some -- to their own islands in the Caribbean. The Kravis's, the Cheney's, Cindy McCain, the Jack Welchs. I know they're shy about taking the money away from people who don't deserve it, but no one is really giving them credit for their accomplishments. You, of ALL people, should be leading the parade in their honor!

--Think of the horrors the great unwashed would commit if they had all the money these bastions of our plutocracy control!

--the population would explode out of control; they'd eat all the food, breathe all the air.

--If you don't start celebrating the heads of the big oil companies for their intelligence and prescience, those great unwashed are going to realize that they could be powering their own cars by making their own ethanol--right out of their garbage and compost heap! Stephen, you're slipping!

(ehhh--sorry, I''m no Stephen Colbert--he's a pretty hard act to follow. My fave line from the WH dinner: "take down the notes, enter it into your wordprocessor; run it through spell-check and go home to your family. Make love to your wife. Write that book you've been wanting to, about a brave reporter speaking truth to power. You know--fiction.")

Thanks for the great information. I love the way you have searched for clips on speaches that McCain has made, and found errors in judgement.

During the interview, try imagining all of your favorite mentors in the room.
Take a deep breath and try to see the danger in the "question". Treat the "questions" as a potential lie, and try to tease out the truth in them. See the interviewer as an inexpierenced and fearful person who needs a loving person to show them the way to truth.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are not Republicans.
Most Republicans with an IQ above 3 recognize this fact. We need to call them what they are.
They talk like they come from some ignorant place full of bigotry. Let's call them the new confederate party so we understand what we are dealing with here. They promote hate and fear instead of bringing us together. They don't care about us any more than the current confederate evangelistic conservative dictatorship. We are not supposed to support our leaders when we don't agree with their choices. That is UN-American and anyone who disagrees with that IS a terrorist.

I am sorry I don't know what Colbert will ask you but if you can, please ask Colbert why pointing out the health and medical conditions of John McCain is not respectful of a person running for President. Despite Fox News lambasting your video's graphic footage, it is not disrespectful to show a vivid image of the scar resulting from an operation to remove a cancerous tumor when McCain refuses to let the American public know the full extent of treatments he has needed against an often fatal desease.

Colbert is a total liberal; he is a satirist. Roll with him and he'll love you as a guest. He's spoofing O'Reilly for goodness sake! That's why he interrupts all the time, just like O'Really. It's the folks who take themselves too seriously who end up looking goofy on his show.

Ask McCain why he didn't sit down with the Acorn people as they requested to discuss the lies that were published about Obama as people listen to these lies and Colbert has many viewers - get the truth about Acorn out and it is not the truth you read in the media.

Also, ask him why he doesn't fight his own battles. Why does he have Sara Palin doing all his mud-slinging or is that is all she is good for - why not ask her to do something valuable, like giving us some suggestions about what can be done about the economy, healthcare, etc. I am sure she is an intelligent women so I am surprised that he lets this happen to her. McCain should have the guts to say what he really wants to say not leave it up to a lady.

It is a little late to research Colbert so that you could create scandals you could confront him with -- trumped up charges, full of paranoia, such as McCain is tossing at Obama. Instead of answering any questions from Colbert, you could each time accuse him of something -- Is it true you attended a Ku Klux Klan rally when you were only 5? Stuff like that. Have you the talent to bring that off? Did you see how director Stone out-Colbert'd Colbert, himself pretending, as Colbert does, to be on the Far Right?
