Brave New Films: Going Head to Head with Rep. Kingston on War Profiteering

  • selise · 2 years ago
i missed the hearing live webcast (on the house appropriations defense subcommittee webpage), and it looks like c-span didn't cover it (i don't see it in the archives).

is there any video or audio (of the entire hearing) available anywhere that you know of?

many thanks for all you do.

So many thanks to you for showing and spreading films like this and trying to bring a sense of justice back to this world. . I wonder what would happen if Kingston sat down with someone from his own state of Georgia who had lost a family member driving an empty Haliburton truck etc. What the hell could he possibly say to them?

Also, do people not care where their tax dollars are going anymore?

What I think would be helpful is to be able to see the connections, i.e.:
    Bush Administration - Corporate Contracts.
    Cheney - Halliburton
It is bad enough when it is in domestic areas supported by tax dollars even in the areas of medicine and energy, but when it becomes war for the profit of some at the expense of the innocent, then it is reprehensible. Most people have no way to see the connections.

The simple tact that by being a "private" or "shadow" army in Iraq they do not fall under jurisdiction of military law or can be held accountable for their actions is frightening enough, but for the men and women in the military to be working side by side with "private" military making treble their wages is unbelievable and shameful. What incentive have they to not just join the "shadow" army instead? Maybe this partly explains why the reenlistment rates have fallen so dramatically from our finest military. They are going to work for these pseudo military private operations!

Hello. I have a diary up now at www.dailykos.com about your film, trials and tribulations. A couple of people have posted questions that would be far better for you or someone in your organization to answer as I am but merely a fan and trying to spread the word about the great work you are doing. As its Saturday and a time when hits are low the diary may only be up for a short while - but please come over if you can,. The Dairy is entitled War profiteering:Road Rage Edition, thanks

Rep. Kingston clearly has no problem with war profiteering. He's obviously a lot more comfortable with big Republican donors ripping off the taxpayers than he is with Robert Greenwald pointing out the truth about what is really going on in Iraq.

Kingston sounded like a complete moron using red herrings and ridiculous comparisons as arguments. It is no wonder the "conservatives" have lost face... Absolutely pathetic.

I sent Kingston a e-mail telling him on how most of the tro0ps feel about their "Listening Trips to Iraq) feel about them, and it isn't on the positive side!
I told him that he should hang, and around and experience real hunting ( He's a duck hunter, belongs to Ducks Unlimted),hunting something that can actually shoot back!
Also asked him why he's never served even he's of age.
Any bet's on whether or not he'll reply?

I missed in your "post" anything about your buddy Soros and Feinstein and her hubby being war profitierr's that you so despise. And you claim Fox isn't "fair and balanced". Typical Soros propaganda site you have here.

It would be interesting to document (and legislate, and prosecute) the "conflicts of interest" inherent in some of these mafia-style tactics employed in our current administration crisis. The Enron/Bush/Cheney connection, the over-the-top obvious Halliburton/Bechtel criminal contracts, etc...How can this be happening uncovered and so blatantly "in our faces" while Fox News and MSNBC spend endless hours discussing Anna Nicole, Imus, and Paris Hilton's prison sentence?! Positively All-American...and to me it shows why so much of the rest of the world HATES AMERICA.

Wow!!! Those die-hard neo-cons refuse to listen to anything not in the script. Thanks for testifying, thanks for answering the Rep.
